History:
Sarah Clarke was born to Teral and Saena Clarke in Sirrae, Bajor in the year 2373. She had a very happy childhood though visits from her father were rare and in between. When she did see him he was typically with his best friend and her godfather Ronnie Davidson who was the Executive Officer on board the ship that her father commanded. Sarah loved her parents and was to be considered a 'daddy's girl' by her mother Saena the family typically did picnic's, and regular visits to the Space Station that was near the Bajor System. This ended when the Dominion War began during her early teenage years.
Every day mother and daughter would speak with Teral via any method they could. And, they would regularly review the casualty reports hoping to not see their father or any friends on the list. When Teral returned him and Saena had planned on having another child even though Sarah had already began to grow into a young woman. However, those dreams were shattered near the end of the war when during the Battle of Cardassia Teral was killed defending Ronnie on the bridge of his own ship.
On a cool and rainy day Ronnie walked up the steps to the home wearing his dress uniform and still suffering from his battle wounds. When Saena and Sarah answered the door they could clearly see something went terribly wrong. After Ronnie explained what happened both crumbled, and would attend Teral's funeral with Ronnie. Afterwards a rift began to develop between mother and daughter. Sarah was placed in therapy because her mother felt that she had suffered greatly. This made matters for Sarah worse, and in 2391 Sarah decided to enter into Starfleet in honor of her fallen father. After this a large fight erupted, and when it had ended mother and daughter stopped speaking to each other.
Sarah completed her courses, and on her graduation day Ronnie Davidson who had made Captain six days ago gave her, her first rank insignia. He also made the offer for her to come aboard the ship that her father had been killed on. But, the memory was too much for the young girl, and she had to refuse with her reasoning intact.
Sarah Clarke was one of the most junior officers to be assigned to a senior staff position. Though she didn't remain on board her first ship for very long soon transferring to the Kennedy. During her time on board there was an incident referred to as the Terra Incident. The Terra Incident occurred during a routine patrol along the Cardassian/Federation border. The Executive Officer became irate, and opened fire on the bridge after disabling most of the ship's systems. In the end he killed himself, and Sarah the only bridge officer to survive took command of the ship. She managed to bring propulsion online long enough to get the ship back to Starbase 292. Having shown bravery it was decided that she be given the chance to become an Executive Officer following the decommissioning of the Kennedy.
