Weaknesses: Matt's left shoulder is relatively weak due to multiple dislocations. He also does not have much Command staff experience but is used to being a Chief of staff after serving as a Chief Tactical / Security officer for years.

Ambitions: Commanding a Starfleet vessel has always been in his dreams, which is something he has just recently achieved. After his success as a ship commander he does aspire to take his place upon the Starfleet Admiralty.

History / Biography: Matt was born in a small town around the Bronx area of New York to Matt and Claire Archenon and was named after his father. His father was half-Betazoid, and while he did not pass on his abilities of feeling emotions Matt jr. has a rudimentary ability to talk to other Betazoid through his mind.

Matt was a decent student growing up, never the smartest but a hard worker and good kid. He enjoyed playing lacrosse and especially football, where he was mainly a quarterback and good at it. Matt was always an athlete but knew it wasn't what he wanted to do for a profession. His father was a Starfleet NCO, a helmsman, but was retired before Matt was born. When he turned 18 Matt decided to apply into the Security and Tactical branch and did well there. He was a natural at shooting the phaser, something he had done for recreation with his father. He was also able to play for the Academy's football league and enjoyed his time there as a back up quarterback.

Matt graduated with a recommendation from his teachers, not at the top of his class but certainly not the bottom. He felt good about him time there and was ready to be assigned to a starship. Matt was offered a post aboard the USS Lagoon and took it. He served there for two years, moving up in post from junior tactical officer to a respected and smart Assistant Chief of Tactical and Security. He was offered a post aboard a more luxurious ship, a newly commissioned Sovereign class. As the Assistant Chief of Tactical and Security he was promoted to full Lieutenant and was proud to hold that post aboard a Sovereign class. Matt loved the Sovereign class and it's crew and served there for 8 years before being promoted to Chief Tactical / Security officer. His former chief stepped down and Archenon of course took the job. The shock of his life came to him at the age of 34 when he had been serving as the CT/SO for two years.

The Sovereign was deployed to what seemed like a routine border patrol of Dominion territory, but the ship was ambushed. Archenon did his best to fight back, performing to the best of his abilities, but eventually the remaining crew (lead by the Second Officer, the Chief Science Officer) had to abandon ship in the remaining shuttles and escape pods. Archenon led one shuttle containing ten Security officers. They were the only shuttle that made it to warp, the others picked off by the Dominion ships. Archenon made it back to Federation space relatively easily but the mental damage suffered by the survivors was large. They went through counciling but Archenon still holds a large grudge against the Dominion that goes farther than the normal hatred for a common enemy.

At the age of 35, after a year of counciling and just a break for Starfleet he reactivated his commission. Surprisingly he was offered the Executive officer position and promotion to Lieutenant Commander on a Nova Class science vessel. He accepted the post, wanting the command experience. He made fast friends with the Captain, and, after serving as the executive officer for two years he recieved his Captain's recommendation when he applied for the command of a Starship to Starfleet Command.

Matt awaited Starfleet's assignment for only a mere two weeks before recieving word he had been given command of the Excelsior class refit USS Invincible. Excited to take command and meet his crew Archenon looks to serve Starfleet and the men and women serving under him. Matt's exemplary performance in his first mission along with position as Task Group Commanding Officer propelled him forward to be promoted to Captain and take his place as Chief of Staff of Task Force 38.
